Volunteers wanted for FOGs

We usually have at least two Fundraising events and a carboot sale, once a year, to help pay for our Insurances and Utility bills and on occasions to help Girls to take part in the Camps on offer with the Girl Guide association. Now the costs to each unit, Guides, Brownies & Rainbows has increased, which includes their subscription to the Guiding Association and Insurance to cover the Girls. With these costs continually rising we are having to ask for help, so that we can subsidise our units when parents have more than one girl in the group.

In the past Alderbury residents have been generous with their time and donations in supporting us, for which we are eternally grateful.
If you are involved in Village groups perhaps you might ask them to consider sending a donation to FOGS? We have had small donations and a generous donation from Salisbury Masons which enabled us to buy the Curtains for the Hall and they are looking good. We still need to replace our very old Tables and chairs which have served us for 50 years, but looking very tired now.!

Alderbury Guides, FOGs are now asking for younger residents, Male or Female, to step forward to replace older members who are now retiring. It is not very demanding and you give as much or little time as you wish. We are a small group compared to a Village Hall committee, so less work!

Our Treasurer is retiring, due to ill health and our Late Secretary’s post is still vacant. We want to expand in offering our Hall to other users which means we need a Booking Secretary to recieve the emails from our website and telephone calls. This would perhaps be suitable for someone retired. We are friendly and welcoming so come and meet us  and hopefully join us.
