For Volunteers

Volunteers are at the very heart of guiding.

There are lots of ways to volunteer to help our Girlguiding unit

Make a difference to girls lives

It doesn’t matter whether you’ve been a Rainbow, Brownie, Guide or Ranger in the past, all volunteering roles come with full training and guidance. Of course experience with children is a bonus if you can help as a unit leader, but the roles are very rewarding. There are many ways you can help and volunteer your time, it can be fundraising, or working behind the scenes. The information below gives you an idea of the volunteers we are looking for, but please get in touch if you have some time and would like to get involved.

Leaders and Assitants / Unit Helpers – we are currently looking for Guide Leaders to help get our Guide unit functioning again. If you have experience of Guiding and leading girls and wish to help out please get in touch. Full training can be given.

We are always looking for unit helpers so if you have a few hours to spare a week we would love to hear from you.

Friends of Girlguiding – our Friends are often past guides who want to help with the general running behind the scenes of the Alderbury Girlguiding Unit, including a committee taking care of the hall, facilities and equipment. They also organise events to raise funds for the girls to do activities and pay for the day to day unit running costs. If you could spare some time to help out at events, jumble sales, or event organisation please get in touch with us.
